b2 stands for "Boutique & Budget" and I would say they are more budget than boutique. Sure they have the sanded concrete walls which seems to define "boutique" these days, but there's no free water available other than your allowed two bottles left in the room (tough luck if you're concerned about the environment, and I SAW a water dispenser in their office behind the front counter!), there's no coffee available, although they have a pitcher of hot water downstairs, presumably for the coffee you'll have to buy and bring with you. The rooms are insanely hot for some reason, until your A/C final gains control. This may take some time as at least in my room on the 6th floor the A/C isn't really up to the task of cooling off a room that seems to emanate heat from the walls. Seriously, how do these rooms get so damn hot? The pillows are big and hard, so each pillow is like two normal-sized (hard) pillows—it's not at all comfortable sleeping with two hard pillows craning your head forward I can tell you. The bed itself though is quite nice, firm but not hard with soft, clean sheets. They have an elevator, which is nice, but if you need to use it, be sure to budget in a lot of extra time into your day as it is painfully, frustratingly slow. With every ride I think it's stuck until it finally opens just as I start clawing at the doors and yelling for help. Aside from those issues, the hotel is nice. Clean, helpful people in front, organized. Very good wi-fi. Bathroom is very nice with nice condiments and the shower water is so, so soft. If you book online you can get a really good deal, if you need to stay this far outside of Chiang Mai Center for some reason. In conclusion: Good, but annoying they don't offer free water or coffee.
