I was very impressed by the food as well as the service. Really top notch. The owners came out to chat with us more than once. They were very friendly, and really helpful with recommendations for food and wine. They did not have the wine we asked for so they gave us an even nicer wine for the same price, and it was fantastic. The cheese plate was excellent with a very nice mix of different styles of cheese. I ordered salmon pasta, and it was delicious and perfectly seasoned. My partner had the wagyu ribeye and could not stop raving about it. Truly a great culinary experience!

How wonderful to find a restaurant where the owner cooks and is a professional chef and his wife takes care of the restaurant. We found the food to be excellent & authentic French. This is a simple place, but well worth a visit. When staying at Le Meridien then this is just a very short walk away from the hotel. We shall return and can recommend this restaurant.
If you are French like me, you go to Le Bistrot de Chiang Mai because you know that the food is as authentic as when you were a kid and only your mother knew the dishes that made you feel ecstatic! Yesterday I had a wonderful flank steak (medium rear) served with a delicious mixed salad, home made french fries (frankly speaking just amazing!), along with a pepper sauce and a glass of red wine (Montepulciano); and for the dessert a creme brulée ... it could not have been better! I like the warmth of the place, the atmosphere, the decoration, the music ... Olivier and his wife are beautiful people and will make you feel at home. Everything that I have tried on the menu had been a wonderful experience (andouillette with mustard sauce, magret de canard, navarin d'agneau, caprese salad ...). When I have homesickness, this is the place where I go! Definitely my favorite French restaurant in town!!
